School Facilities Conversion

In this change of use project at Offerton High School, Manchester, Eastwood Building Services converted a kitchen space into a dance studio and converted two science labs into purpose built IT suites. This conversion project enabled the school to make better use of its space, at an affordable price.

The work involved:

• Full job specification and costing
• Removal of fixtures and fittings and recycle of waste materials
• Upgrade of the electrical system, including emergency lighting and alarms
• Installation of the heating system for the dance hall
• Laying of vinyl floor covering
• Installation of false ceilings
• Plastering, plumbing, joinery and decorating work
• Supply and installation of internal work stations in the IT Suite

Queens College London

Here Eastwood Building Services were engaged to refurbish the north wing of the college. This included the Electrical and Mechanical services, upgrade to the washrooms and general building works to the classrooms.

Burnley College

For Burnley College, we replaced the college heating system in phase two of the project. This involved the removal of the old heating system and the installation of the new pipework, radiators and ceiling mounted convector heaters. We also introduced a new steel gas supply pipework together with the installation of pressurised hot and cold water services.

Hourstons Department Store , Ayr Scotland

This was a major store refurbishment project.  We removed and replaced the large commercial kitchen which supplies the busy customer restaurant. We installed the new plumbing and electrical supplies to the kitchen area and installed a new kitchen extraction system.

The store has very large display windows and we introduced a new 2 inch steel pipe heating circuit in conjunction with new convector heaters to blow warm into the display areas to avoid condensation.

As part of the contract we fully rewired the lighting and clothing display areas of the store.

We also replaced and renewed the toilet and washroom facilities.
